Brad M. Miller created WISCO Inspection, Inc. in November pf 1989. Since that time, Brad has completed over 5000 professional home inspections.
Brad's Credentials:
- ASHI--The American Society of Home Inspectors (#011895)
Brad has been a Certified ASHI Member for the past 13 years. ASHI is a non-profit professional association recognized throughout North America as the leading authority on home inspections. The National Home Inspection Exam that inspectors are required to pass for state licensing was written by ASHI. All Certified ASHI members were required to take this test long before state licensing. ASHI members were also required to take the exam again for the state licensing.
- State Licensed Home Inspector #270-106
As of December 2000, the State of Wisconsin requires that all home inspectors pass the National Home Inspector Exam and obtain 20 hours of continuing education over the two year license period. Brad has been following these requirements through ASHI for the past 13 years.
- State Certified Rental Weatherization Inspector #71998
Brad has been certifed through the Wisconsin Department of Commerce as a Rental Weatherization Inspector since 1990.
- Certified HUD REAC Inspector #M62010
Brad went through extensive training on the east coast to obtain his Certification as a HUD Inspector. In this capacity, Brad completed well over 100 HUD REAC Inspections on Multifamily HUD properties throughout Wisconsin.
- Building Contractor
Prior to establishing WISCO Home Inspection Inc., Brad was in the home building industry for 20 years.
As a Building Contractor, Brad built over 50 homes.
- Home Building Superintendent
Brad was a Home Building Superintendent for one of the largest home builders in the United States. In this capacity, he was responsible for and supervised the construction of over 500 homes. His responsiblities also included inspecting the installation of the heating, electrical and plumbing systems in each of those homes.
- National Association of Home of Builders (NAHB) Residential Insulation Auditor
Brad was certified as an NAHB Insulation Auditor. In this capacity, he conducted audits of insulation contractors and conducted inspections of installed insulation in new residential construction. Insulation R-Values, correct installation of wall batts and attic loose fill insulation, interpretation of attic loose fill coverage charts and the use of attic ruler and attic cards were some of the items covered in this extensive training and certification program.
- Certified Performance Home Energy Rater
Brad completed the testing and energy ratings on new and existing residential properties. He also worked closely with the Energy Star Home Program. These calculations and testing process, which took into consideration square footage, amount and location of glass, size and efficiency of the heating and cooling system, and attic and wall insulation, would reveal the energy efficiency of the "whole house".
- Certified in the Principles of Building Science
Obtaining the Principles of Building Science certification, designated Brad as an expert in the field of Energy Rating and Efficiency.
- State Certified Asbestos Inspector
Brad received and maintained his certification in Asbestos Inspections from 1990 through 1999. Brad maintains his knowledge of asbestos and will report on the presence and condition of presumed asbestos material in certain areas of the house.
- State Certifed Lead Paint Inspector
Brad received and maintained his lead paint certification prior to Wisconsin even having a certification program. He was certified from 1994 through 1998. Brad still maintains his knowlege of lead paint.
- Bacharach's Carbon Monoxide Safety and Combustion Analysis and Performance Training
Bacharach is one of the leading experts on carbon monoxide detection and carbon monoxide detection equipment. Brad utilizes Bacharach's leading Carbon Monoxide Detector (the same detector the gas companies use) during a home inspection.
- Consistent Continuing Education
Brad is consistent with quality continuing education. Not only does this help maintain and build his knowledge base, but allows him to continue to do the best home inspection possible. Brad has recently attended classes for Mold Testing, Heat Exchanger Experts, The Mechanical Issues Regarding Electrical and Plumbing, FHA 203K Consulting and more.
